The buzz about the sequels for the two classic movies, Coming to America and Bad Boys has finally received its confirmation. The iconic comedians Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall have collaborated again to star in Coming 2 America and the forever funny Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be obliging their fan-base with Bad Boys for Life. The best part about it is that both movies are currently being filmed on the brand new 330-acre studio grounds of Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, GA.

Since Coming to America hit theaters in 1988, Eddie Murphy has been busy in his career with The Nutty Professor I & II (1996 & 2000 respectively), Daddy Daycare (2003), Norbit (2007), Mr. Church (2016), and he currently has a Netflix movie entitled Dolemite is My Name. No stranger to the big screen, Murphy continues to strengthen his presence in the film industry and this sequel is sure to keep that train rolling.

While Arsenio Hall has not made the same amount of noise as Murphy since Coming to America, he certainly made a mark in black entertainment history with his syndicated self-titled late night talk show, The Arsenio Hall Show (1989-1994). Here he coined his signature chant and gained the respect of many for his talent as well as his candor approach to controversial topics. Hall has made many appearances since the show and he currently has a new stand-up comedy special on Netflix entitled Arsenio Hall: Smart & Classy, but this next venture to revive the classic film with his co-star Murphy is sure to make another mark in his career.

Will Smith is a class act with a film roster that is as long as the day. While not every film he has starred in or co-starred in has been a #1 box-office hit, he continues to pump out work every year give or take a year in between. Since his hit sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990-1996), Smith has not stopped working with films such as Men in Black I, II, & III (1997, 2002, & 2012 respectively), Ali (2001), Bad Boys I & II (1995 & 2003 respectively), The Pursuit of Happyness (2006), Suicide Squad (2016), and his new movie Gemini Man that was released last month. He seems to be very familiar with creating sequels so Bad Boys for Life should be no difficult feat.
Legendary comic Martin Lawrence dominated the black syndicated sitcom world with his hit show Martin (1992-1997) but he didn’t start there. He had already broken through barriers with his early movies such as House Party I & II (1990 & 1991 respectively) but he set the tone for his stand-up comedy act with You So Crazy (1994) followed by Bad Boys I & II. Martin has kept his film presence consistent with movies such as A Thin Line Between Love and Hate (1996), Life (1999), Big Momma’s House I, II and Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son (2000, 2006, & 2011 respectively), and Death at a Funeral (2010). Martin took a 5-year break before re-emerging with his stand-up comedy film Martin Lawrence: Doin Time (2016) but the Bad Boys for Life film is what everyone has been waiting for and we hope the duo will not disappoint.

The news of the new construction of Tyler Perry Studios swept over the internet when he had his historic and star-studded opening on October 5, 2019. The studio sits on 330 acres and Tyler chose to pay homage to 12 actors by naming 12 sound stages after each of them one of which is Will Smith. The studio is said to be the hosting grounds for the next Presidential debate as well as the 2019 Miss Universe competition. However, right now, Tyler is yet again making history with two of the most highly anticipated sequels to hit theaters in well over 10 years being filmed on his new studio grounds.
